Are you interested in learning more about your home's energy consumption? Sense will show you when the garage door opened, when the sump pump turned on, or when the drier finished its cycle. Would you like to know how much power an appliance is using, or how many lights are being left on? Maybe you want to educate your childred on electricity usage, Sense is visually appealing and easy to understand.

What is Sense?

The Sense Home Energy Monitor is a small device installed in your home's electrical panel that allows you to monitor your energy use in real-time. Sense can also detect and track many of the different appliances in your home to show you what is consuming electricity, how much it’s costing you, and when it turns on or off.

Using Sense with Solar

With the Sense app, you can view a real-time comparison of how much energy is being used vs. how much solar is being produced. Sense Solar shows you when your home is being powered by either solar or your utility. This enables you to save money by managing your electricity usage to match your solar production.

Power Meter: your home’s real-time energy
Walk around the house, turn devices on and off, and see how much energy they use by looking at the Power Meter. Try unplugging a few devices too!

​Trends: your energy history
Don’t wait until the end of the month to see how much energy your home used. Track energy usage by day, week, month, or billing cycle in the Trends screen.

Devices list: what Sense has discovered
As Sense listens to your home, it detects the energy signatures of some individual devices. Sense will often name them “motor”, “heat”, “light”, or “device” and then you can label it.

Bubbles: what’s on right now
Visualize what devices are on right now and how much energy they are using. You can tap a bubble to view wattage, or double-tap to find out more about that device.

Timeline: what’s happening
The timeline shows you when things happen at home. You can customize what appears on your timeline in the Device Settings screen.

Notifications: set your own alerts
Create custom notifications to receive alerts when a device turns on or off. Did you leave the oven on? Did the garage door open?
