Position: Project Manager/Construction Coordinator
Job Summary:
Lightspring seeks a detail-oriented and experienced Project Manager/Construction Coordinator to lead the planning, execution, and closing of an innovative commercial microgrid project. This hybrid role involves both high-level project management (budget, schedule, contract management) and direct, hands-on construction coordination (on-site supervision, material logistics, subcontractor management). The ideal candidate ensures the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construction Coordination & Field Oversight: Act as the primary on-site representative to oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with engineered plans, specifications, and safety protocols.
- Project Management & Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and manage comprehensive project schedules, tracking milestones from kickoff through commissioning and closeout.
- Subcontractor & Resource Management: Coordinate, supervise, and hold accountable internal teams and external subcontractors, vendors, and consultants.
- Budget & Cost Control: Manage project P&L, including tracking costs, reviewing subcontractor payments, processing invoices, negotiating change orders, and maximizing profitability.
- Technical & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, building codes, and interconnection requirements. Manage permits, AHJ inspections, utility interconnect application and witness test.
- Material Procurement & Logistics: Oversee material supply chain, tracking the delivery of key components (modules, inverters, batteries) to the site.
- Communication & Reporting: Serve as the central point of contact for clients, engineers, and stakeholders, providing regular progress reports, and risk mitigation strategies.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in solar PV, battery storage, or electrical construction projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical systems, solar PV design, and battery storage integration.
- Project Software: Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets), project management software (MS Project, Wrike, or Procore), and CRMs.

Preferred Qualifications:
- NABCEP PV Installation Professional (PVIP) or similar Certification.
- Experience with microgrid control systems or complex EPC projects.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to construction sites.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- This position requires working on active construction sites.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb ladders.
- Must be willing and able to relocate to Bismarck, ND immediately upon hiring.
